This Act may be cited for all purposes as the Interest Act. It shall henceforth be lawful by contract to stipulate any rate of interest on sums of money. Whenever the rate of interest shall not be fixed by contract, the legal rate of interest shall be four per centum per annum in civil or commercial matters.1. Short title
