1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Family Violence (Protection of Victims) Act, 2000.2. Interpretation

Notwithstanding any other written law, no costs shall be allowed in proceedings under this Act.6. Offence
A person who intentionally contravenes an interim protection order or a protection order shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction before the Tribunal to a fine of R30,000 or to imprisonment for three years or both such fine and imprisonment.7. Regulations
The Minister may make regulations for carrying out the purposes and provisions of this Act.8. Savings
The provisions of this Act shall be in addition to, and not in derogation of, the provisions of any other written law relating to conduct constituting family violence.History of this document
