1. This is an application file under Section 100 of the Civil Status Act for the rectification of a birth register. The petitioner Bettyna Emmalynn Talma was born on the 5^th of March 1987 and her birth was registered in Civil Status register no. 0290 of 1987C Sex: F.

2. On the strength of the affidavit and other documentary events adduced by the petitioner I am satisfied that the Registering Authority has erroneously entered the petitioners mother’s name as Linda Talma nee Juliette instead of Linda Talma nee Julienne.

3. I am satisfied this error has occurred due to some advertences on the part of the Registering Authority. In the interest of justice I hereby order the Chief Officer of the Civil Status to rectify the Civil Status register number O290 of 1987C by amending the surname of the petitioner’s mother to read Julienne instead of Juliette.

4. Accordingly, I direct the officer to give effect to the Order made by the court made in this respect.
