The Republic Respondent
|
Heard: 07 April 2017
Counsel: Mr. Anthony Juliette for the Appellant
Ms. Brigitte Confait for the Respondent
[1] When the appeal was called for hearing on 7th April 2017 we told the Appellant that if we were to go on with the full hearing of the appeal he might run the risk of having the sentence enhanced in view of the seriousness of the offence he committed and to which he was convicted of.
[2] Apparently the Appellant’s counsel also told us that he had earlier advised the Appellant to the above effect.
[3] On reflection, the Appellant thought it would be unnecessary to proceed with the appeal. He accordingly prayed to withdraw the appeal.
[4] In the circumstances, we marked the appeal withdrawn.
