ORDER

Gaswaga, J


Mr. Gul Wali, a Pakistani national, has this day been convicted and sentenced to twelve (12) years in prison on Count 1 of importation of a controlled drug into Seychelles and to another twelve (12) years in prison on Count 2 of trafficking in the same drug amounting to four (4) kilograms and fourteen (14) grams of heroin (diamorphine). See copy of sentence attached.


Pursuant to the inherent powers vested in the Supreme Court I hereby order that in case there is no appeal lodged herein to the Court of Appeal within thirty (30) days from the date hereof the Commissioner of Police shall make the necessary arrangements to have the said drugs destroyed on Tuesday 7th April, 2009 at 8:30am in the presence of the presiding Judge, the Attorney General, and defence counsel.


The Registrar of the Supreme Court and the Head Investigation Officer of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) are accordingly notified.
