versus
CHARBEL SERVINA
Accused
Heard: 02nd March 2016
Counsel: Chinasamy Jayaraj for the Republic
Joel Camille for the Accused
Delivered: 02nd March 2016
SENTENCE
Dodin, J
[1] Learned Counsel moved the Court to impose a non custodial sentence on the Convict which I agree and Charbel Servina is 29 years old, he is gainfully employed as a driver. He has a dependent child of 1 year old. He resides with his mother at Anse Boileau. He is also a first offender in this case and by pleading guilty he has saved the Court’s time and expenses. Learned Counsel moved the Court to impose a lenient sentence on him as well;
[2] I impose the following sentence;
-Charbel Servina I impose a sentence of 6 months imprisonment which is suspended for 1 year.
[3] That means you don’t have to go to Prison. The only condition is that you do not commit any other similar offence within the 1 year period and that should be in Seychelles not any where else.
[4] If you disagree you can appeal against the sentence with 30 working days.
Signed, dated and delivered at Ile du Port on 02nd March 2016
