SENTENCE

Dodin J

[1]               I have heard counsel in mitigation. The Convict is 44 years old a father of two minor children. He has pleaded guilty saved the Court a lengthy trial and expenses. He is already serving a life sentence for the offence of trafficking.

[2]               I note to that the offence of possession in this case contains 6.85 grams of pure drugs which is basically a trace. So taking all that into account I impose a following sentences:

Count 2 that is possession of 6.85 grams of diamorphine containing 0.41 grounds of purity. I impose a sentence of 18 months imprisonment.

Count 3 assaulting NDEA agents I impose a sentence of 1 year imprisonment.

Count 4 obstructing NDEA agents in performance of their duty also 1 year imprisonment.

[3]               All the sentences would run concurrently as they were in the same transaction and they would also run concurrent to the sentences he is now serving.

[4]               You can appeal against the sentences within 30 working days.
